Hints & Tips - General points to remember
- KFI - If you would like to automatically produce a KFI as part of a Decision in Principle or Full Application remember to select Y on the Welcome Page
- If there is any additional information that you think Bank of Scotland should know please give full details in the comments section on the Welcome Page. This is particularly relevant for Self-Cert Mortgages.
- Remember to input data by clicking the ADD button where shown. Failure to do so will result in information being lost.
- Ensure ALL commitments are disclosed even if intending to repay. Please note this includes Credit Cards being repaid in full every month. The most common error is Existing Mortgage Commitment, which should always be entered, including any Buy-to-Lets even if self-financing. When entering Buy-to-Let commitments remember to select yes for other income on Employment Details page. This will then go on to allow you to enter Rental Income on the Other Income page. Rental Income should be classed as Investment Income.
- Market Value only required for Right-to-Buy Products.
- The Broker should ensure the client is aware of who is responsible for instructing the valuation to prevent two surveys being carried out on the same property.
